- 10 to 20 ft.
- Vigorous, but easy to keep in check
- Will lose most of their leaves over the winter, except in frost-free areas

Flowering period
The heaviest flowering occurs in the spring with flushes of blooms through the summer.
How to grow
All-day sun will produce the most blooms, but plants will still flower when grown in part shade. Plant in a well-drained soil and keep watered until it gets established.
Care and maintenance
Easy to train. To get vines started, tie the stems to the structure you want it to climb. Overgrown plants can be cut back after flowering in the spring without losing next year’s flowers.
Where to plant
Train to climb up fences, pergolas, and posts. Read an article we wrote on how to build a simple structure to grow coral honeysuckle up.
When to plant
Best to plant is in the spring or fall (in the South), but if you pay attention to keeping the vines watered, they can be planted through the growing season.
When will my plant flower?
Plants purchased in spring may produce some flowers during their first growing season.
Native habitat and range
Along woodland edges from Maine to Florida.
Source and origin
Our stock plants were grown from seed collected along the edge of a dry woodland in Pender County, North Carolina.
